The scene that comes from watching the chaotic crisis in Syria is one of human suffering and tragedy. The images show how wars impact the daily lives of innocent civilians. It helps viewers empathize with this unfortunate human crisis. In one hand, while social media have helped spread the plight of these people, it has also spread substantial amount of propaganda to address the fear and distrust a lot have people have about these migrants.

I think all developed who nations who claim to have a good conscience have a role in facilitating the rehabilitation of these people who have been victimized. The developed Arab world needs to lead the charge of this rehabilitation because the conflict is happening around their region due to the incompetent Governing body, and also because they share a common cultural and religious heritage. The lading Western nations should help in the process of stabilizing the situation, since these are the only nations capable of providing substantial shelter, security, and hope to these unfortunate refugees. We also need to have a screening process that is less time consuming and tales orbiting account the fact that a lot of these people fled their homes and don’t possess that much documentation.

Faith communities have a history of sponsoring people in need to rehabilitation. Since the conflict that these people are escaping is a religious one, I believe that the religious communities, which the refugees belong to, should have a responsibility in helping the migrants assimilate into the migrating society. This would ensure that the refugees don't have to tackle a culture shock and all the psychological troubles that come with it.

The commonality that the refugees and the immigrants experience is that both these groups tend to go to a foreign country in the hopes of being able to live a better and happier life. They both have to learn to live in some sort of a hybrid culture. Both of them might find difficulties regarding language and customs of the country they are migrating to. While immigrants and refugees have their similarities, there are some stark contrast between the immigrant and the refugee experiences. The refugees are people who were forced to flee while immigrants often migrate voluntarily. It is usually easier for immigrants to adjust to the new environment since they make their choices to migrate after a lot of deliberation and have a better idea about where they are going. Immigrants in modern times more often than not have relatives and this helps them fit into the society of the country to which they are immigrating. Furthermore, immigrants generally tend to be in better financial situations than refugees.

The Syrian refugees, just like any other individual is simply trying to give their future generation a glimpse hope of being able to live a good and a happier life. The only difference is that those people have no other choice, than to literally flee for their lives to be able to search for this good life. These people are willing to do whatever they can, to provide a secure and better life for their families and children.
